Description:
The Susannah Wesley Community Center is a multi service community center that has provided much-needed programs and services to the residents of Kalihi and Honolulu communities for over one hundred years. The Center was first established in 1899 with a $500 grant from the National Home Missionary Society and the work of Miss Holbrook providing outreach and training to immigrant women on plantations.
Provides services for Youth, Families, Immigrants, Eldelry, and Poor.
• The Department of Education recently recognized Susie’s CBase competency diploma program for having the highest graduation rate of all community programs! We are very proud of our young people who worked so hard to graduate high school.
• We have begun to provide case management and supportive services to victims of the horrendous “human trafficking” trade.
• We have once again been thoroughly reviewed and approved by the Council on Accreditation through a nationally recognized accreditation process for exemplary programs and management.
• Our kids created and donated Christmas ornaments that decorated Hawaii’s Christmas tree that represented our state in the 2007 “Pathway to Peace” at Washington, DC. (Photo right - courtesy of Michael Rivero)
